The purpose of this note was the impact of physical exercise on release of cardiac troponins. Were evaluated 16 dogs, 8 clinically healthy (group A) and 8 (Group B) with valvular disease in the asymptomatic phase (class I, NYHA). All dogs, after a complete cardiac evaluation, underwent at exercise on a motorized treadmill with different speeds: 1.8 km/h (low speed), 3.6 km/h (medium speed), 5.4 km/h (high speed) lasting 6 minutes, each performed on different days. Plasma samples for the determination of cTnI and cTnT were taken before exercise on a treadmill and at the end of the recovery period, then in 2, 4 and 6 h later, and refrigerated at -20 ° C. cTnI concentrations were increased in Group A only to speeds higher, while cTnT showed no changes. The results suggest objectively that exercise may induce myocardial suffering.
