G. Tallini in 1987 associated a unique algebra A(G) to every finite hypergroupoid G . In this paper, several necessary and sufficient conditions for the associated algebra to be associative are proved. A criterion for constructing hypergroups such that the associated algebra is associative is given. Using the above criterion, the class of the complete hypergroups (under some conditions) and the class of P-hypergroups are proved to have the associated algebra associative.
