The aim of this work is to conduct a socio-economic exploratory study on childbearing quote (CQ) in Italy by using the mapping and analytical capabilities of GIS. Local index of spatial correlation allows us to detect a region with significant deviation from the national average of CQ. The paper shows that, as a function of the socio-economic characteristics of the family, CQ markedly changes between different areas.
