Iinter-ictal cerebral single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) is frequently used to get additional information on the epileptic focus especially in pts with E candidates to neurosurgery. In a group of 35 pts with E the following observations were made: i) SPECT abnormalities may be more frequent than those on EEG and TC/MR, ii) SPECT may detect early an epileptic focus that will be later identified by EEG and/or MR, iii) during drug discontinuation SPECT may be more abnormal in those pts who will relapse, iv) pts with important depressive disorders may show more complex SPECT figures.
