Abstract
In shade of seismic event that injured the central Apennine chain, of "Technical standards for construction" code (NCT08), of futuristic building of Strait Bridge, the building heritage of Calabria and Messina, helpless, apparently stranger, stays. Nevertheless, the curiosity to verify a modern concept of antiseismicity for these constructions would be licit and it is rightful from the administrations to ask if the reconstruction of the cities of Messina and Reggio Calabria, had happened since 1909 to 1939, could hold up the impact of a exceptional event, or if the structural design, managed by coeval legislation, that has informe the calculations, would guarantee the safety required by the new dictates, or if, again, works of great technological impact would find the appropriate skills for interventions aware and predictive capabilities about possible consequences. In such direction, and with these intentions, it was examined the complex of residential buildings, now "historicized", widespread in urban center of Messina, realized in masonry, survived and consolidated after the earthquake, for conducting a typological study of the constructive solutions adopted for the elevated structures and for initiating an analysis of seismic vulnerability of more emblematic and representative cases about each of the structural classes identified. What one wants to show, together to the obtained result, is the methodological path addressed to this problem, with the intent to illustrate a feasible procedure that should at least to be extended to a significant sample of buildings, in order to reassure in front of new seismic events and in any case to envisage, if necessary, technical-constructive solutions additional for consolidation, effective and congruent with the historic-architectural character of the building heritage examined.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
