The citizen-consumer, seems to have acquired a power through direct access to information that has transformed him into a producer of content that he can spread simply in a click. Yet this apparent power is showing all its limitations. Access to information is partial, only through some channels and not others, the social environment conveys data flows through the use of increasingly sophisticated algorithms and intuitive applications. This paper intends to analyze how disinformation production is profoundly affecting society by manipulating and altering public opinion construction processes, individual choices, politics and democratic processes.
