The detection of harmful gases has become a task of paramount importance, especially in domestic environments. The aim of this work is the implementation of a home detection and alarming system for harmful gases. The system is based on the LinkIt ONE development board and includes commercial gas sensors combined with an audio speaker to alert the user when a dangerous gas is present in the room. The developed prototype is equipped with a Wi-Fi module that allows its remote control. Data are collected from the sensors and then stored in the cloud where they are available for further analysis and for the generation of alarm events through messages or emails. Moreover, the system is also equipped with a GSM module that allows it to send alarms via SMS if the internet connection is unavailable. The proposed device is modular and its design allows an easy and fast upgrade of both hardware and software.

Abstract
The proposed device is modular and its design allows an easy and fast upgrade of both hardware and software.Pubblicazioni consigliate
