The chapter intends to trace the main changes that have occurred within the media system and that have given rise to those "journalisms" of different matrixes that collide with and in some cases feed off the disinformation industry. Television has played a central, catalytic role that has driven the agenda setting of other media as well, but also helped define a communicative style and the development of different genres. The first part will outline this evolution and its historical impact with the help of data emerging internationally to delineate the evolution of journalism and the impact of the phenomenon of disinformation and fake news, and which led to the definition of model for the analysis of the impact of fake news called "fake news hexagon" (Pira Altinier, 2018). The second part will propose a focus on the role of informal communication, disintermediation processes We have entered the era of the informational palimpsest.
