Abstract

The definition of artificial intelligence is the endeavor to comprehend human cognition and devise computational procedures that can emulate its structure. Therefore, it is an endeavor to generate cognitive processes by means of programming a computer. Artificial intelligence can be defined as a computer program that has human-like intellectual capabilities, including information gathering, perception, visual processing, reasoning, and decision-making. There has been a gradual increase in the need for dental treatment over the past few years. Currently, the utilization of computer-based multimedia explanation systems and image-based methodologies is more prevalent for evaluating the accessible data. The implementation of artificial intelligence in dentistry holds the capacity to substantially reduce treatment durations and the workload of dentists, obviate the requirement for specialized dentists, and revolutionize the practices and procedures of dentistry. Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the dental industry, just as it is revolutionizing other sectors. In the field of dentistry, it is employed to diagnose dental ailments and propose appropriate treatment plans. Dental practitioners are increasingly relying on AI technology in eleven distinct dental fields to aid in diagnosis, clinical decision-making, treatment planning, and prognosis prediction. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the capacity to rapidly and precisely analyze extensive amounts of data, offering dental professionals valuable insights to enhance their decision-making process. This is considered one of the most significant benefits of AI in the industry. Artificial intelligence (AI) has become indispensable due to three primary factors: breakthroughs in algorithms, the abundance of Big Data, and enhanced computer capabilities. This study analyzes the literature on odontology and artificial intelligence, using publications sourced from PubMed. By employing a Mesh search on Pubmed, a comprehensive analysis was conducted on a total of 2043 articles, from which the 687 most relevant articles were selected. The author juxtaposes the innovation with the most captivating aspects of AI research. An evaluation of numerous contemporary technologies has been conducted, resulting in the formulation of recommendations. The author concludes that the current artificial intelligence provided by companies serves as a valuable tool for future professionals who engage in their career using new technology.
