In this paper we experimentally analyze two of the most controversial classes of operation, i.e., class E and class F-1, often misinterpreted, due to the necessity of an exciting waveform different from a pure sinusoidal or distorted sinusoidal signal. As a matter of fact, without a proper shaping of the input signal these classes of operation give rise to very poor amplifier performance that can lead to erroneous conclusions.

Abstract
In this paper we experimentally analyze two of the most controversial classes of operation, i.e., class E and class F-1, often misinterpreted, due to the necessity of an exciting waveform different from a pure sinusoidal or distorted sinusoidal signal. As a matter of fact, without a proper shaping of the input signal these classes of operation give rise to very poor amplifier performance that can lead to erroneous conclusions.File in questo prodotto:
