The entry deals with The Single European Sky Air Traffic management (ATM) Research (SESAR) project as the technological pillar of the European Commission’s Single European Sky Initiative to modernize ATM architecture in Europe. The main parts of the project, i.e. the development and deployment phases, which is led by the SESAR Joint Undertaking, are examined. The structure and objectives of the new SESAR 3JU, as established in EU Reg. 1285/2021, are described.
