Archaeological investigations conducted between 2022 and 2023 in the chapter hall of the San Salvatore a Settimo’s abbey (Scandicci, FI) led to the discovery of a terracotta loor, dating to the renaissance phase of the building, remains of the monks’ seat and a large collective burial located at the centre of the room. The investigations documented furthermore traces of pictorial decorations on the walls and the presence of a previous “cocciopesto” looring, that belongs to the earlier Cistercian phase.
