The safety of vulnerable road users is one of the most important tasks a smart mobility infrastructure must accomplish. The most vulnerable users are pedestrians. A non-negligible percentage of accidents involving pedestrians occur at road junctions. To this aim, to develop a sustainable smart mobility system able to sense the presence of a pedestrian on the sidewalk, waiting to cross the road and communicate this presence to a smart traffic light, this paper investigates the suitability of a specific velocity measurement method based on raw GNSS measurements carried out with mobile devices, such as smartphones and/or tablets. Results have demonstrated the method's reliability, providing good and metrological comparable results when two different devices with different specifications are used.

Abstract
Results have demonstrated the method's reliability, providing good and metrological comparable results when two different devices with different specifications are used.Pubblicazioni consigliate
