Abstract

This paper presents the results of a research project conducted in the territory of Massa San Nicola in the province of Messina. With a view to the preservation of historic centres, a rapid method is proposed for the analysis, archiving, management and facilitated use of data relating to individual buildings in urban agglomerations. This constitutes a corpus of data that contributes to the formation of a fundamental basic knowledge for any type of recovery hypothesis. Traditional survey methods have been flanked, for data retrieval accuracy, by state-of-the-art methods such as drone and laser scanner surveying. Digital technology enters the field of conservation, protection and restoration, respecting the historical and material identity of concentrated and diffused building heritage. The software used, FileMaker Pro 19 and QGIS, represent for public administrations and for professionals valid tools for immediate consultation of the current state of the building industry.
