Dilemma. An empirical Investigation into the Moral Development of Adolescents and Young People through Role Play.

Thinking of playful activity, particularly role-playing, as a useful tool for assessing the evolution of morality is not something to be underestimated. This research, conducted in close contact with different groups of gamers between the ages of 13 and 20, examined the effect of role-playing on the assumption of complex moral perspectives, on the consideration of social norms and on reflection around ethical dilemmas in a sample of pre-adolescent and adolescent participants, in line with Kohlberg's staged theory. These findings offer promising perspectives for the integration of role-play in the educational context, providing a unique opportunity for the exploration and discussion of complex ethical issues and the acquisition of social and emotional skills.
