Over 60 years old, PT concrete is a key method for building large structures like bridges. However, challenges remain. Premature tendon repairs in some bridges highlight issues with strand corrosion, leading to fractures and even collapse. Poor grouting, faulty anchorages, and defective ducts can cause corrosion. While progress is made, accurately evaluating corrosion rates, and predicting service life are ongoing challenges. Tendon ducts complicate corrosion estimation. Construction errors or defects can expose strands to various environments, hindering simple prediction models. Recent time-variant probabilistic models aim for better service life estimation. Abstract
This review analyses these models and explores contradictory case studies.Pubblicazioni consigliate
