Abstract

While neuroscience has reshaped economics, marketing, and organizations, entrepreneurship has only recently begun to leverage it to explain decisions under uncertainty. This work contributes to foundational theory by articulating an integrative framework that links neural mechanisms-salience detection, prediction-error learning, emotion regulation, and attentional control-to opportunity recognition, creativity, and persistence. Through an interpretive review, i t synthesizes evidence across entrepreneurship, cognitive neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral eco- nomics, and appraises methods (EEG, MRI, NIRS, biofeedback, VR/immersive simulations) f o r evidentiary strength, inferential limits, a n d ecological validity. Rejecting reductionism, it argues for complementarity between biological and social explanations. It closes with ethical guidelines for neurotechnologies a n d Al i n research and entrepreneurial education, and advances a research agenda to deepen theory and strengthen empirical foundations.
