In this paper we propose a theoretical-experimental research for a problem that influences the precise surveying of road axes: the uncertainty about the vehicle position with respect to the axis, which lowers the instrumental and methodological precision. An experimental approach based on GPS and simultaneous images acquisition of road signs has been carried out with the aim of defining the axis geometry in terms of straights, progressive and circular curves.

Abstract
