Urban Flora of Scordia town (eastern Sicily) and observations on the allergenic species- The results of a survey on the spontaneous and ornamental plants in the town of Scordia, situated at the southernmost end of the Plain of Catania, are here presented. The subgeneric taxa, identified in the area and listed in the catalogue, number 434, of which 117 are ornamental species. For each taxon, the biological and chorological types are given. Specifically, with aim to providing a valuable aid for the prevention or containment of pollinosis, allergenic plants and their distribution in urban area, are indicated. In additino to this the ultrastructure of pollen in some of them is analysed
