The mass and charge identification of fragments detected with the Chimera silicon-CsI(Tl) telescopes was discussed. An identification function based on the Bethe-Bloch formula was used to fit empirical correlations between δE and E ADC readings for determination of atomic and mass numbers of the defected charged reaction products. The analysis suggested that identification function method ensures fast, standardized and reliable mass and charge identification for multi-telescope system.
