Abstract

Canine transmissible venereal tumour and leishmaniosis are often seen in the same animal. This report describes a preputial neoplasm which was massively parasitized by Leishmania infantum. The parasites were recognizable by cytology, histology and PCR. The histiocytic nature of the tumour and the regressive phase may have played a role in the invasion.
