from 1985 to 1989, 89 patients were treated surgically for thoracic tuberculosis. Fifty-three cases presented pulmonary, 18 pleural, 7 mediastinal lymphonodes, 4 bronchial, 2 ribs and 1 mediastinal tuberculosis. Fifty-seven patients underwent lung resections, 14 intrathoracic transpositions of extra-thoracic skeletal muscle, 8 mediastinal biopsies, 14 thoracic open windows, 3 pleuroscopies, 2 ribs resections and 1 pleural decortification. One patient died after intrathoracic transposition of extra-thoracic skeletal muscle and the other cases are survived with clinical outcome.
