The present research is consecrated to the study of the possible relationships existing between the Sicilian olive tree plantations and the underlying bedrock composition. It is noteworthy that olive trees require a calcareous soils. Among the analysed Sicilian cultivars, the Biancolilla Cultivar that lives on different bedrocks (silicate and calcareous), shows a better productivity when it lives on calcareous rocks.

Abstract
