Abstract
in this paper a thermomechanical model for viscoanelastic media, proposed by one of us (VC), is combined with the linear response theory in which a harmonic shear deformation is assumed as cause and the relative stress as effect. The phenomenological coefficients that occur in the mathematical description of the model are calculated as functions of frequency and their numerical values are obtained. It is also shown that, in linear response, the analytical expressions of the coefficients satisfy the inequalities that play an important rule in the entropy production. Finally, the results are applied to a polymeric material (poly-isobutilene) for the sake of testing the applicability of the model.Pubblicazioni consigliate
