An incoherent quasi-elastic neutron scattering experiment on pure polymers and on polymeric aqueous solutions is reported. The high resolution of the IRIS spectrometer (7 mu eV) allows us to observe the diffusive motion of the pure polymer centre of mass, as well as the confined water motion within the polymer chain. The important role of the polymer-water interaction (H-bond) in the characterization of these liquid systems is also studied and analyzed.
