In Tales from Firoszha Baag Mistry’s literary achievement springs from the point of rupture the content of his fiction brings about in Canadian literature, and, on a textual level, from the coherence produced by metafictional references to the processes of writing that interplay with the mechanisms of memory in evoking an individual and a collective past where writing becomes the expression of a cultural inheritance recouped through the process of remembrance.
