The authors of this paper aim to perform a comparison, by means of a statistical approach, between two groups of patients with suggestive symptoms of VBP. The first group is formed by patients initially treated by EUS and, if calculations are present, subsequently by ERCP with extraction of the calculation in the same session; the second group consists of patients underwent to EUS and eventually to ERCP, with extraction in two different endoscopic sessions. The existence of statistically significant differences between groups, for the measured parameters, and the possible degree of association existing between groups and diagnostic techniques have been studied. Finally the diagnostic accuracy of EUS for presence of the VBP calculations, in comparison to ERCP, has been assessed.

Abstract
The authors of this paper aim to perform a comparison, by means of a statistical approach, between two groups of patients with suggestive symptoms of VBP. The first group is formed by patients initially treated by EUS and, if calculations are present, subsequently by ERCP with extraction of the calculation in the same session; the second group consists of patients underwent to EUS and eventually to ERCP, with extraction in two different endoscopic sessions. The existence of statistically significant differences between groups, for the measured parameters, and the possible degree of association existing between groups and diagnostic techniques have been studied. Finally the diagnostic accuracy of EUS for presence of the VBP calculations, in comparison to ERCP, has been assessed.Pubblicazioni consigliate
