Languages of Cognitive Sciences

This volume collects four thesis which have been selected for the “Premio Codisco”. It is a initiative born in the field of the CODISCO (Coordinamento dei dottorati italiani in scienze cognitive) activities. Four thesis have been selected among these works, researches that come from the Doctoral Schools of Messina and Siena (Cognitive Sciences), Trento (Psychology) and Pisa (Linguistics). These works are considered representative samples of the different research fields that give life to the present debate in cognitive sciences, a quite recent research paradigm. Their formulation rises from the lack of a shared paradigm which would be the best way to analyze a common topic. More specifically, cognitive sciences are aimed to analyze how mind and human cognition work, and to describe them in order to reproduce them through every kind of material structure, not necessarily a biological one. The aim of this project is fascinating but hard.
