Hip dysplasia is a common and increasingly reported hereditary anomaly of the coxo-femoral joint in dogs. It is a complex pathology that has been proven to be difficult to eradicate. The etiology has been attributed to genetic and environmental factors. Diagnosis is based on information obtained from signalment, history, clinical signs and radiographic findings. The goal of this paper was to review the state of the art of canine hip dysplasia, underling the value of radiographic investigations.
