The results of the microstructure characterization of Pd and Pd-Ag alloy thin film membranes on a ceramic α-Al2O3 tubular membrane support and the anal.of their r.t. reactivity in the direct H2O2 synthesis for H2/O2 indicates that also in this low temp. application the problem of brittleness of the Pd film due to formation of β-PdH in the presence of H2 diffusing through the membrane is present and that the formation of an alloy with a second metal (Ag) could prevent or limit this problem. Abstract
