Aim of our work was to study the histocompatibility antigen genes, HLA-A, B, C, DRB1 and DQB1, of Italian MM patients with dermatologic complications onset after lenalidomide treatment. Our study evidenced that patients having severe dermatologic complications (SJS and erythema multiforme) share HLA-DRB ∗ 1501 and HLA-DQB1 ∗ 0602, whereas patient with less severe dermatologic complications (urticaria) share HLADRB1 ∗ 1502 and HLA DQB1 ∗ 0601.

Severe dermatologic adverse reactions after exposure to lenalidomide in multiple myeloma patients with a positive HLA-DRB1*1501 and HLA-DQB1*0602.
