The present status of the CHIMERA 4pi detector will be reported with the highlight on some recent results. Emphasis will be given to the new opportunities opened by the availability of the LNS radioactive beams (EXCYT and Fragmentation beams). The future plan of measurements (EXOCHIM phase) will include studies on isospin dependence of interm ediate energy reactions. In addition new experiments will be also performed in order to observe population and decay of exotic nuclei, produced both using direct reactions with radioactive beams, and heavy ion collisions.
