Congenital abnormalities of uterus and cervix are rare in horses, often associated with infertility, despite normal ovarian activity and sexual behaviour. An abnormality of the cervix in 5-year-old jennet was described. Clinical and ultrasound examination of the genital tract showed a normal development of the uterus with regular cyclic activity in both ovaries. Vaginoscopy revealed a normal development of the vagina and a malformation of the cervix which appeared adherent to the vaginal wall and left deflected; the cervical os was surmounted by a dorsoventral band. A stenosis of the cervix was demonstrated during oestrus by inoculating fluid and revealing it in uterus by ultrasound. Reproductive history, clinical and histological examinations allowed a diagnosis of congenital abnormality of the cervix.

Abstract
Reproductive history, clinical and histological examinations allowed a diagnosis of congenital abnormality of the cervix.Pubblicazioni consigliate
