Measurements of specific heat in the temperature range 1-40 K are reported for four samples of superionic glasses (AgI) x (Ag20·2B2O3)1-x , (x = 0,0·2, 0·5, 0·65) and for three chalcogen amorphous alloys Se1-x Te x (x = 0·067, 0·14, 0·21). The anomalous specific heat measured in this temperature range is compared with two theoretical models describing the phonon localization due to disorder and anharmonicity: the phonon-fracton model and the random-local-anharmonic-oscillator model. Both models seem to yield good semiquantitative agreement with the experimental results.

Abstract
Measurements of specific heat in the temperature range 1-40 K are reported for four samples of superionic glasses (AgI) x (Ag20·2B2O3)1-x , (x = 0,0·2, 0·5, 0·65) and for three chalcogen amorphous alloys Se1-x Te x (x = 0·067, 0·14, 0·21). The anomalous specific heat measured in this temperature range is compared with two theoretical models describing the phonon localization due to disorder and anharmonicity: the phonon-fracton model and the random-local-anharmonic-oscillator model. Both models seem to yield good semiquantitative agreement with the experimental results.File in questo prodotto:
