The absorption of longitudinal sound waves was measured in amorphous Se93Te7 and Se79Te21 from 4.2 to 300 K and 15 to 75 MHz. Low-temperature peaks connected to thermally-activated relaxation processes with low activation energies were observed. The peaks and the overall acoustic behaviour are discussed from the viewpoint of the polymeric structure of these glasses.

Abstract
The absorption of longitudinal sound waves was measured in amorphous Se93Te7 and Se79Te21 from 4.2 to 300 K and 15 to 75 MHz. Low-temperature peaks connected to thermally-activated relaxation processes with low activation energies were observed. The peaks and the overall acoustic behaviour are discussed from the viewpoint of the polymeric structure of these glasses.File in questo prodotto:
