The effects on intracellular cAMP levels after incubation with thymosin alpha-1, in murine thymocyte subpopulations obtained with PNA technique, were studied. Intracellular cAMP is quite constant at different times (15, 30, 60 min) after incubation with the lower dose (1 µg/ml) of thymosin. No difference is shown, in comparison with control samples, for unfractioned thymocytes, while PNA+ (immature) and PNA- (mature) thymcytes show a slight increase and, on the contrary, a slight decrease in cAMP levels respectively. Most interesting results were obtained at the dose of 4 µg/ml, with an evident time dependent increase of cAMP in PNA+ thymocytes and a corresponding decrease in PNA- cells.

Abstract
The effects on intracellular cAMP levels after incubation with thymosin alpha-1, in murine thymocyte subpopulations obtained with PNA technique, were studied. Intracellular cAMP is quite constant at different times (15, 30, 60 min) after incubation with the lower dose (1 µg/ml) of thymosin. No difference is shown, in comparison with control samples, for unfractioned thymocytes, while PNA+ (immature) and PNA- (mature) thymcytes show a slight increase and, on the contrary, a slight decrease in cAMP levels respectively. Most interesting results were obtained at the dose of 4 µg/ml, with an evident time dependent increase of cAMP in PNA+ thymocytes and a corresponding decrease in PNA- cells.Pubblicazioni consigliate
