During recent years the use of monoclonal antibodies and flow cytometry have offered excellent methodological basis for the study of lymphocyte phenotypes. Consequently, we developed a simple, specific and reproducible test, for the evaluation of the activity of TH, based on flow cytometric analysis of the Thy 1.2 antigen on spleen cells obtained from adult thymectomized (Tx) mice after in vitro or in vivo treatment with TH. Preliminary results, illusrated in this report, were obtained using a new thymic product, Thymolymphotropin (TLT), produced by Ellem s.p.a. (Milan, Italy)
