The effects of shoots and leaves extract of Olea europaea L. and oleuropein, one of its active principles, on the cardiac activity "in vivo" and rabbit and rat isolated heart and on arterial blood pressure in normotensive and in DOCA hypertensive rats have studied. Among all the examined extracts, the glycero-ethanolic macerate of the leaves shoved the best activity.
