In this study we compared the acute effects on experimental pulmonary hypertension, in the anaesthetized dog, of the aqueous extracts of: Afrormosia laxiflora (Benth, ex Bak) Harms, leaves; Lantana camara L., leaves; Lippia geminata H. B. K., leaves; Synedrella nodiflora (L.) Gaertn, airy part of the plant. The results obtained have swoun that the aqueous extracts of the leaves of A. laxiflora and L. camara caused a decrease of arterial pulmonary pressure (APP) and of pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR); while no significantly are results the pulmonary haemodynamic effects of the aqueous extracts of L. geminata and of S. nodiflora.
