Ventricular thrombosis is a frequent complication of acute myocardial infarction. Today, two dimensional trans-thoracic echocardiography is the standard diagnostic tool. Trans-thoracic echocardiography with use of intravenous second generation contrast image enhancement, contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging and 3D echocardiography showed a good diagnostic accuracy. We report a case of apical left ventricular thrombosis after acute myocardial infarction, identified by 3D Live trans-thoracic echocardiography.
