Atrial fibrillation is a frequent arrhythmia in patients with heart failure. According to the International Guidelines, in patients with Heart Failure is important to obtain a complete study of left ventricular diastolic function. In patients with Atrial Fibrillation the lose of atrial contraction, the variability of ventricular frequency, the variability of R-R intervals, can influence the study of mitral and pulmonary flow. Howewer, the evaluation of wedge capillaries pressure is obtained with a high accuracy also in patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure. New Doppler parameters, as mitral flow velocity propagation and tissue Doppler velocities, have showed a good accuracy in the evaluation of diastolic parameters in patients with atrial fibrillation.
