On the rat, root extracts of Harpagophytum procumbens have demonstrated a significant protective action with regards to the arrhythmia induced by aconitine, adrenaline-chloroform and calcium chloride. In fact, doses of 200 mg/kg body weight (corresponding to 19% dry drug) of methanolic extract residue administered by os one hour before, have caused an increase of almost ten times the arrhythmogenic dose of aconitine and doubled that of calcium chloride.

Abstract
On the rat, root extracts of Harpagophytum procumbens have demonstrated a significant protective action with regards to the arrhythmia induced by aconitine, adrenaline-chloroform and calcium chloride. In fact, doses of 200 mg/kg body weight (corresponding to 19% dry drug) of methanolic extract residue administered by os one hour before, have caused an increase of almost ten times the arrhythmogenic dose of aconitine and doubled that of calcium chloride.File in questo prodotto:
