The authors report a casuistry of 27 immunocompetent children aged from 22 months to 14 years suffering from acute low respiratory tract infections admitted to the Istituto di Patologia infettive e Virologia dell'Universita di Palermo. Antimycoplasma pneumoniae antibodies by Elisa and cold hemagglutinins were detected in a double specimen of serum. The results of the specific antibody titres showed etiologia from Mycoplasma pneumoniae in all the patients. Cold hemagglutinins were found only in 9 patients (33%).
