Preparative methods and equil. data (formation consts., stabilization parameters, species distribution as a function of pH, etc.) are presented for bis-L-phenylalaninate copper (II) (I) [29637-99-8], bis-L-tryptophanate copper(II) (II) [14263-88-8], and L-tryptophanate L-phenylalaninate copper(II) (III) [72532-82-2]. When the complexes were administered to rats intragastrically, dose-dependent inhibition of gastric secretion was obsd. for I and II at 16-60 mg/kg and for III at 14-45 mg/kg. Administration of the corresponding amino acids did not inhibit gastric secretion. Examn. of the types of species present in soln. at different pH values showed that at gastric pH the antisecretory activity of the complexes is related to the different percentage of neutral species present.

Abstract
Examn. of the types of species present in soln. at different pH values showed that at gastric pH the antisecretory activity of the complexes is related to the different percentage of neutral species present.Pubblicazioni consigliate
