Abstract

The aim of our work is the role of the iris in course of senile pseudo-exfoliation. A lot of iris cells present deep changes in their structure and we suggest the intracellular origin of the exfoliative material, whose thought subunits we have seen in the cytoplasm of undamaged membrane iris cells. The exfoliative material may be an abnormal fibrillar protein, which organizes in the characteristic granular-filamentous structures of the stroma.
