Messages in a bottle. Etnografia e autoetnografia del campo accademico antropologico in Italia

My chief goal in this paper is to propose an analysis, ethnographic and engaged at the same time, of the academic field of the Italian socio-cultural anthropology, as it appears to me at the beginning of the XXI st. century. I will not try any philologically correct re-enactment of the history of the field, but I shall present an ethnographic reading of its current frictions and structural limits. Moreover, as for every ethnographic account, it will be necessary to make explicit my personal position in the field of Italian anthropological studies and, therefore, the particular point of view from which I will try to represent it.
