A novel nickel/nanoporous carbon (Ni-NC) composite has been synthesized by incorporating NiO in a pyrogallol-formaldehyde matrix and successive pyrolysis at 675 degrees C. The electrochemical behavior of a 5 wt% Ni-NC nanocomposite has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) performed under different experimental conditions (potential, scan rate and analyte concentration), with aim to develop a modified screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) for glucose determination. With the modified Ni-NC/SPCE electrode, a sensitivity of 146.4 mu A mM(-1) cm(-2) and a lower detection limit of 10 mu M have been obtained.

Abstract
A novel nickel/nanoporous carbon (Ni-NC) composite has been synthesized by incorporating NiO in a pyrogallol-formaldehyde matrix and successive pyrolysis at 675 degrees C. The electrochemical behavior of a 5 wt% Ni-NC nanocomposite has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) performed under different experimental conditions (potential, scan rate and analyte concentration), with aim to develop a modified screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) for glucose determination. With the modified Ni-NC/SPCE electrode, a sensitivity of 146.4 mu A mM(-1) cm(-2) and a lower detection limit of 10 mu M have been obtained.File in questo prodotto:
