Gioacchino Ventura was known in the United Stateds of ‘America thanks to some essays published by Orestes A. Brownson in Brownson’s quarterly review between 1848 and 1860. Theses articles appear as reviews to some Ventura’s most famous works, and are interesting in depth study of the political, religious and philosophical thought of Ventura. They also give us the measure of his fame in American Catholic circles and in those of the mid-nineteenth century intellectuals.
