Gioacchino Ventura's interest in philosophy was clearly oriented towards the refutation of what he considered to be "the errors of modern thought". The political and theological objectives seem to him pre-eminent, and Ventura does not properly seem a philosopher, endowed with an original thought. Despite this, his philosophical works had a wide circulation in Italy and France. The importance of them is therefore not to be found in the originality of the theoretical elaboration, but rather in their popularity. Thanks to him, the theses of French traditionalism, that of Joseph de Maistre, Louis de Bonald and Felicitè de Lamennais, were widespread in Italy, and many people believed that there was no conflict between them and the Catholic doctrine, and that they were indeed the mature expression of it.

Abstract
Gioacchino Ventura's interest in philosophy was clearly oriented towards the refutation of what he considered to be "the errors of modern thought". The political and theological objectives seem to him pre-eminent, and Ventura does not properly seem a philosopher, endowed with an original thought. Despite this, his philosophical works had a wide circulation in Italy and France. The importance of them is therefore not to be found in the originality of the theoretical elaboration, but rather in their popularity. Thanks to him, the theses of French traditionalism, that of Joseph de Maistre, Louis de Bonald and Felicitè de Lamennais, were widespread in Italy, and many people believed that there was no conflict between them and the Catholic doctrine, and that they were indeed the mature expression of it.Pubblicazioni consigliate
