Abstract
Protected areas can be considered as open and integrated geosystems. Any type of planning and development of protected areas must consider the relationships among all environmental, physical, biological, cultural factors in order to avoid negative effects on the environment. Not only are areas of environmental protection, they are proposed as a tool for land management, where economic development and environmental protection contribute to increase production, income and employment. Connected to the aims of conservation, protection and restoration of natural ecosystems, the objectives of economic, social and cultural promotion of the populations provide for the enhancement of recreational and tourist use. Therefore it is easy to understand which input can be generated by this development model which, respecting nature, enhances its local, human and material resources. For this reason the establishment of parks and protected areas can be configured as a form of environmental policy and long-term local economic development oriented towards the protection and preservation of local resources.Pubblicazioni consigliate
